In our quest to connect financial, business, and educational expertise and resources with community needs, NFI's financial literacy team actively seeks out partnerships with organizations that are as passionate about impacting the financial literacy levels of our country as we are. NFI is proud to work with the following organizations as we jointly leverage resources and act strategically:
- Central Indiana Academy of Finance
The Academy of Finance (AOF) prepares students for post-secondary education and careers through academic learning and hands-on work experiences. Students are exposed to broad career opportunities in the financial services industry, creating new options for the future.
- Indiana Bankers Association
The Indiana Bankers Association strives to be the premiere provider of effective advocacy, quality education, knowledge sharing and communication to Indiana's banking industry.
- Indiana Council for Economic Education
Indiana Council for Economic Education (ICEE) prepares students to become active citizens and productive members of our economy by providing them with the ability to make sound economic decisions.
- Indiana CPA Society
The Indiana CPA Society is a professional association representing certified public accountants in Indiana with a mission to enhance the professional success of its members while promoting the public interest through volunteer opportunities, Knowledge Networks, conferences, its website and other programs.
- Indiana Credit Union Foundation
The Indiana Credit Union Foundation is a charitable arm of the Indiana Credit Union League, using contributions from individuals, credit unions and other organizations to fund projects, which benefit Hoosier credit unions. These include scholarships and grants, credit union development and other programs as approved by its board of directors including financial literacy, community education programs and disaster relief.
- Indiana Department of Education
The Indiana department of Education promotes equal access to educational excellence throughout the state.
- Indiana Financial Literacy Coalition
In an effort to help improve awareness of financial literacy throughout Indiana and to help support personal financial education programs, the Indiana CPA Society facilitated the creation of the Indiana Financial Literacy Coalition. The group is dedicated to enhancing financial literacy among individuals of all life stages.
- Indiana Humanities Council
The Indiana Humanities Council strengthens communities through targeted initiatives in leadership, education, and culture. The Indiana Humanities Council's smartDESKTOP is a web-based suite of tools to help Indiana teachers be more efficient and effective in their work. The database assists teachers with planning for instruction, finding standards-aligned resources, assessing student learning, and connecting teachers to other professionals.
- Indiana Jump$tart Coalition and National Jump$tart Coalition
The purpose for Indiana incorporation of Jump$tart was to create a clearinghouse of financial literacy education resources; raise public awareness of the need for financial literacy; enhance the professional development of educators in the area of financial literacy; and assist others in the promotion and delivery of financial literacy efforts.
- Indiana Secretary of State - Securities Division
The Secretary of State's office oversees Indiana's securities industry as well as the activities of mortgage brokers, collection agencies, franchisers and continuing care retirement centers. It is the state agency responsible for effective investor protection and efficient capital formation in the state of Indiana.
- Inside Indiana Business
Created in 2000 by broadcast news veteran Gerry Dick and technology entrepreneur and visionary Scott Jones, Grow Indiana Media Ventures is a diverse media company focused on producing and distributing business news, information and data profiles through multiple media channels. Inside Indiana Business has partnered with NFI to launch a statewide public awareness campaign to promote financial literacy education among children, young adults and the adult workforce through print and electronic media.
- Inquisitive Kids
Inquisitive Kids provides community academic connectivity through its free monthly publication. The publication is circulated to third through fifth graders in over 235 area schools. NFI has partnered with Inquisitive Kids to produce a page that focuses on financial literacy. The page labeled "It Makes Cent$" educates students on the importance of core concepts of earning, giving, saving and budgeting. The concepts are presented in fun games and activities that instill enthusiasm while learning life skills.
- Internal Revenue Service
The Internal Revenue Service is the nation's tax collection agency and administers the Internal Revenue Code enacted by Congress.
- Junior Achievement of Central Indiana
Junior Achievement of Central Indiana, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The purpose of Junior Achievement is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics to improve the quality of their lives.
- Junior Achievement of Greater Lafayette
Junior Achievement uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with business and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.
- Money Savvy Generation
Money Savvy Generation develops innovative products to help parents, educators and others teach kids the skills of basic personal finance at an early age. Money Savvy has participated in all of NFI's professional development events, and has consulted with NFI frequently on the strategic direction of its financial literacy initiatives.
- Moonjar
Moonjar is committed to creating family-based products that encourage communication and that empower children with basic life skills - financial literacy & goal achievement.
- ProLiteracy Worldwide
ProLiteracy Worldwide is now the oldest and largest nongovernmental literacy organization in the world and pursues a mission of sponsoring educational programs that help adults and their families acquire the literacy practices and skills they need to function more effectively in their daily lives.
- Purdue University Extension - Marion County
Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service is one of the nation's largest providers of scientific research-based information and education. Indiana citizens are educated through the application of land-grant university research and knowledge base to develop youth and strengthen agriculture, families and communities.
- 100 Black Men
The mission of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. is to improve the quality of life within communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans.
